About Kekova Island
Kekova is the name for this entire area of small picturesque islands and natural bays. In ancient times Kekova was still part of the mainland. Earthquakes over the last two thousand years have changed land elevation in this region. This has resulted in a lowering of the land beneath sea level, submerging parts of a Lycian settlement including many tombs forming a necropolis or city of the dead.
