Canoeing, Sailing, Snorkelling and Diving in Kalkan

Whilst Kalkan is the ideal place to sit back and relax by the poolside at your accommodation, for those who want to get out and about, there is so much to see and do in this area.
Kalkan's coastal location makes an ideal base for water sports and activities. Activities in Kalkan are quieter and more sedate than at other resorts and are aimed at families and couples.

Description: water sports and activities in kalkan southern turkey including scuba diving to padi standard

We offer a number of daily tours on the water, as well as daily and weekly diving courses.

Kekova and the sunken city – Board a boat and explore the ancient Lycian tombs and city ruins.

Mediterranean Boat Cruise – Trips start mid-morning from Kalkan harbour and expore the local islands.  Night sails are also available.

Scuba Diving - Kalkan is the ideal place for first time diving with professional PADI instructors offering a number of options for you, depending on your abilities and what you would like to achieve.  All of the courses are half days, so that you still have plenty of time, above the surface, to enjoy your holiday.  Additionally, groups are split in to abilities so that experienced divers can get on with diving whilst novices have more time to get used to diving.
The prices for diving courses vary depending on what you want to do but they all include the use of all equipment, dives, instruction, certification, log book, insurance and transfers to/from the dive centre.  PADI manuals for each course can be purchased in the UK from any dive shop or online. http://www.simplyscuba.com/departments/PADIMaterials/Manuals.aspx
To ensure your safety you will need to complete a PADI Medical Statement before embarking on any diving course. http://www.padi.com/english/common/courses/forms/pdf/10063-ver2-0.pdf .  If you do have any medical issues, that may pose a problem for scuba diving, then it is always worth bringing a completed PADI Medical Statement with you, signed by your doctor.  This way you can avoid not being able to dive due to health concerns.

TRY DIVE
This course is designed for people who have never done any scuba diving before, and who want to see whether this pastime is for them.  You will dive to a maximum depth of 5 metres.  The minimum age for participating in this course is 10 years old.

PADI SCUBA DIVER COURSE (2 DAYS WITH 4 DIVES)

This is a pre-entry level certification which is perfect for people who only plan to dive a couple of times a year.  A sub-programme of the PADI Open Water Diver course, it allows you to get your certificate quickly and easily.  With this qualification you can dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, Instructor or higher professional on your next dive trip.  The maximum depth you will dive to is 12 metres, and the minimum age for participants is 10 years old.

PADI OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE (3 – 4 DAYS)

This is the most popular diving course in the world!  It is easy and fun, but adventurous.
On completion of this certification you will be certified to rent or use your own scuba diving equipment to dive with a ‘buddy’ to a maximum depth of 18 metres, anywhere in the world without an instructor.
There is a junior open water diver course for children aged 10 – 14, diving to a maximum of 12 metres.  From 15 years of age you can do the normal open water diver course, diving to a depth of 18 metres.

This course is all about diving, planning your dives and improving your enjoyment of diving and your skills.  You will be diving to a maximum of 30 metres.  You can choose from over 15 different diving ‘experiences’ including night dives, deep dives, drift diving and many more.  After completing 5 of these dives then you can get your certification.

EXPERIENCED DIVERS

If you already have all your certification, then don’t worry … we can offer half day trips on the fast boat where you can do 2 dives in the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean.  The dive boat takes a maximum of 10 divers at any one time.
