Theimussa - present day Ucagiz
Further along the coast beyond Kas is ancient Theimussa, another site more famous for its Lycian sarcophagi, than its other historic structures, although the ancient city gate is still in use today. Inscriptions on some of the tombs state 'Citizens of Kyaenai and Myra'.
The modern name of this coastal village is Ucagiz, which means 'three entrances', as entry to the harbour encompasses two small islands.

Theimussa Harbour with Lycian Sarcophagi
The small fishing port has been popular with small boats and yachts since ancient times, and remains a popular destination for tourists today, due to the sheltered location and spectacular rocky scenery, and still contains the rocks and remains of an ancient dock.
