David Leadbetter Golf Academy:
David Leadbetter is originally from Worthing, and began his golf career by
playing on the European and South African tours. Whilst he has a love of the
game, he developed a keen interest in the techniques of the game and started
to spend more time instructing rather than competing.
His teaching theories and methods have changed the game and his influence
has been huge to all levels of golf. His past students, in technique,
include Nick Faldo, Nick Price, Bernhard Langer, Ernie Els, Justin Rose,
Se Ri Pak and Michelle Wie to name but a few.
David has hand picked and trained his team of world class instructors at the
academy; they faithfully deliver his teaching method and philosophy.
The facility has evolved and is now truly exceptional and offers guests an
all-encompassing tuition service with the simple, but informative advice
based on cause and effect.

Selected hole descriptions:
Hole 3 - Jaws
Short but deceptive uphill par 3 hole. It is important to choose your club
carefully for this elevated green location. If you fall short then the 'jaws'
located well below the green will gather your ball
Hole 5 - Wall
An average length par 5 with a green that hangs out over the lake. Requiring a
right to left tee shot - but if you play too far left your ball will either end
up in the scrub or a long way below the fairway.
If you do find the higher section of the fairway, it is possible to reach the
green in two shots - that is if you can manage to get it over the wall!
Hole 6 - Plateau
Hole 7 - Faldo’s Choice
Either play safe towards the higher ground or go for the green in one shot.
Which ever you choose the green slopes from left to right towards three deep,
greenside bunkers with dense, local vegetation all around. Accuracy and control
are most important here.
Hole 9 -Straight home
Hole 11 - Long
This is a true par 5 for even the big hitters! It will require you to try and
shape your drive to the right and around corner. You will then achieve the best
position from which to plan the rest of the hole. On your second shot, make sure
you steer clear of the lake to the right and with your approach take care to
avoid the deep hollows and the mound which protect the right half of the green.
It is hard work to get par here!
Hole 13 - Deception
You will need to play down the left side of the fairway in order to open up the green.
If you go too far right, the fairway bunkers come more in to play - giving you the
deception. Check your yardages!
Hole 17 - Front to back
Whilst this par 4 is short in length it proves a tough test of ability.
Find the fairway off the tee before playing your approach into the elevated
and very narrow green, which slopes from the front to the back.
Hole 18 - Mountain Peak
Some History
The course and resort is named after Cornelia, the woman who was forever known
as 'the mother of Gracchi'; she was the daughter of a legendary warrior who
defeated Hannibal in one famous battle. She was an ordinary woman, but the
Romans still erected statues in her honour after her death, though none survive today.
Her date of birth and death are unknown – she married, and bore her husband
12 children, but only 3 of these survived in to adulthood.
